On October 9-15th 2010, it was the second edition of the O'neill Cold water classic in Tofino, Canada, British-Columbia. Last year was the first edition of the event and was won by local Canadian surf hero Peter Devries. The CWC is the only WCT event held in Canada and the fact that a Canadian won such a high level contest in 2009 in Canada created a media buzz all across the country. In a solidarity effort, Canadian surfers (and non-surfers) started supporting Peter.
Subsequently, this year event was followed not only by specialized media but also by bigger mainstream media. Surfing in Canada suddenly became exotic, trendy & sexy! The perfect recipe to crowd our waves!... but also to establish surfing in Canada... but I guess we'll keep that bloody debate for another future story on GotSurf ;)
This year event was won by Australian surfer Josh Kerr and GotSurf's Photographer/filmmaker Adam Chilton was on location to capture the action. Enjoy the VIDEO resume that he did for GOTSURF.CA
